About Me

If you’re wondering how my first name is pronounced, it’s quite simple. It’s pronounced, “SHAN-tay”. I am self-taught wedding and portrait photographer located in Birmingham, Alabama. I have had a camera in my hand since I was in elementary school.  Back then it was a Disposable camera and I would take my camera to school and take pictures of my classmates. Yet, it was 2009 when I began to learn and pursue my passion for photography after I received my first DSLR camera, as a present after countless disposables and ‘point and shoot’ cameras. It was then photography became a very important part of my life.

However, I am much more than just a photographer hiding behind a lens or a computer screen. I'm a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and MOMMY of one incredibly loving daughter and she is my absolute priority. I'm a bubbly person and love to laugh! I love Jesus, my beautiful daughter Shelby, and my family so much! I love being a photographer, but more importantly, I love to use my God-given talent for photography to tell the stories of what God is doing. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace … ” (1 Peter 4:10). I also love my clients, their families, and the memories I am blessed to capture. 

When I'm not behind my camera, you can find me spending time with my daughter and other loved ones --- shopping, reading, blogging, listening to music, going to the movies, and I love to eat chicken.
